Alison Hiltner

Alison Hiltner creates multi-media installations imbued with a sense of wonder and experimentation as she brings together the worlds of science, technology, and nature. Recently featured in the Artists on the Verge exhibition at the Soap Factory, and in the Minnesota Museum of American Art’s Minnesota Biennial, Hiltner considers each work to be “a vignette of research in process, an artifact tenuously balanced between what is real and what is simulacrum.”

Hiltner, who lives and works in Minneapolis, is Associate Director of the Soo Visual Arts Center. She received a BFA from the University of Kansas and an MFA from the University of Minnesota. Hiltner has received multiple Minnesota Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants.
