Arjendu Pattanayak, Associate Professor in Physics and Astronomy, recently gave two invited talks in India. The first, entitled “ Hunting Quantum Butterflies: Chaos as a Signature of Non-Monotonicity in the Transition from Microscopic to the Macroscopic World,” took place at the Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Chennai on Dec. 10th. On Dec. 15th he spoke on “Quantum Resonances and Chaos in Ratchet Systems” at the International Conference on Cold Atoms, hosted by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Koltata.
