Alex Knodell, Assistant Professor of Classics, recently gave two lectures in Athens, Greece, where he is currently on sabbatical as an NEH Fellow. The first was a joint lecture at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens on “Diachronic Survey on the Borders of Attica: The Mazi Archaeological Project,” delivered in Greek and in English by the three project co-directors (Kalliope Papangeli, Knodell, and Sylvian Fachard). The second, “The Political Landscapes of Mycenaean Central Greece,” took place at the Norwegian Institute in Athens and discussed shifting modes of sociopolitical organization in the Late Bronze Age (c. 1200 BCE). The host institutions have made the lectures available online through the links above.
