Orr and Iverson Join Team of Researchers

Cailin Huyck Orr, Assistant Director, and Ellen Iverson, Evaluation Director at SERC, are part of a team of researchers including alumna Catherine O’Reilly ’94 that received a major award from the NSF IUSE (Improving Undergraduate STEM Education) program to support improving quantitative skills in undergraduate students. The multi-year project, titled “Environmental Data-Driven Inquiry & Exploration” or EDDIE, approaches the emergence of large, public, sensor-based datasets as an opportunity to engage students in quantitative reasoning through open-ended exploration and interpretation of real-world data.
