Ezra Sergent-Leventhal '19Ezra Sergent-Leventhal ’19’s (Minneapolis, Minn.) favorite thing about Carleton is his friends, as well as the faculty and staff he’s become close with over the years. “The people here are the real reason this place is special,” he said.

During his time at Carleton, Sergent-Leventhal played ultimate frisbee for the Division III men’s team Gods of Plastic, as well as club soccer, which he found to be “great social circles.” He also was involved with Project Friendship for the past three years, which he said “has been a meaningful aspect of civic engagement for me.”

How I got to Carleton

Being from Minnesota, I had always known about Carleton and was excited to apply as a high school senior.

My Turning Point

Studying abroad my junior year in Dakar in Senegal was a tremendously informative experience, as well as one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. Additionally, my sophomore fall I took a political science course titled, “Schools, Scholarship and Policy,” with Rich Keiser that led me to declare the educational studies minor and has very much affected my career path.

Now that I’m about to leave

I will miss the tight-knit community, as well as all the interesting and funny conversations I have had here over my years with people from all walks of life. I won’t miss some of the cold walks to Leighton in the middle of winter.
