(Ph.D. from Princeton University) he is a specialist in seventeenth-century art and literature and in Modernist aesthetics.  He has edited several books by José Moreno Villa, including Temas de Arte (Pre-Textos, 2001), Medio mundo y otro medio.  Memorias escogidas (Pre-Textos, 2010), and Función contra forma y otros escritos sobre arquitectura madrileña, 1927-1935 (Iseebooks, 2010).  He is currently working on a book on film and photographic theory in the Second Spanish Republic.
