What is QuIRK?

The Carleton Quantitative Inquiry, Reasoning, and Knowledge (QuIRK) initiative is a project designed to create curriculum and practice around the teaching of quantitative reasoning.

QuIRK's program uses a circular model of pedagogical reform.

  • Assessment of student writing informs a professional development curriculum for faculty workshops and discussions.
  • These workshops encourage curricular reform, through course revision and new course design.
  • The circuit is completed with subsequent assessment that evaluates the effectiveness of those reform efforts.
