Hometown Ties: Carleton Celebrates 150 Years with Northfield

Special exhibit celebrating Carleton's history with the town of Northfield.

Sunday, June 18th, 2017
10:00 am – 5:00 pm / Northfield Historical Society

This event takes place each day from June 15th, 2017 to June 18th, 2017.

"Hometown Ties: Carleton Celebrates 150 Years with Northfield" is an exhibit at the Northfield Historical Society Museum that highlights ways in which Carleton College has been intertwined with Northfield since the college's founding in 1866. The exhibit features many photographs and objects from Carleton’s history, including a 1940s-era telescope used through the 1980s for public sky-viewing nights at Goodsell Observatory and an original costume from 1924's May Fete pageant “Sigurd the Volsung: A Tale of Viking Days.” The exhibit opened in October 13 and will be on display at the Northfield Historical Society Museum throughout Reunion weekend in June 2017.
