Welcome, James & Cassat Residents!

We, the James and Cassat Hall Staff, would like to welcome you to our website. We know that you will be extremely satisfied with your living experience in James and Cassat Hall. We are very excited about the two new buildings and even more excited about the incoming residents.

You will notice that the buildings' focus is sustainability and we will be carrying the sustainability focus throughout the year. This website is the first step in that direction. We are hoping that the residents of James and Cassat will utilize this website and we can cut back on paper and posters throughout the buildings. Please let us know, if you have any suggestions, comments, or concerns about James and Cassat Halls.

The residence halls are located south of the Language and Dining Center and north of First Street. Cassat and James will house approximately 230 students. Carleton is pursuing a gold level certification through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The LEED system was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. The Minnesota architecture firm LHB has developed designs that will enhance the vista down Maple Street and will match the "college gothic" design of nearby Nourse Hall.
