a packed fourth week at the cave

Wednesday: Blues Dancing @ the Cave: LIVE on KRLX: 8pm

Come to the Cave from 8-9:30 PM on Wednesday, October 9 for some sultry blues dancing! It's an easy dance style to learn, and if you don't like to dance, it's also fun to watch. Music will be provided by KRLX, of course, and the Cave will provide coffee and tea.

Thursday: Coming Out Celebration hosted by the GSC: 8pm

The GSC is hosting its annual Coming Out Day Celebration on Thursday, October
10 at 8pm in the Cave. National Coming Out Day is an internationally observed
civil awareness day celebrating individuals who identify as LGBTQA and
provides a space for them to share their coming out stories surrounding sexual
orientation and/or gender identity. As NCOD was started in 1988, this year is
the 25th anniversary! Celebrate with us by submitting your story or just come
    and listen.

    Friday: SLAVA with D PAYNE

Moscow-born, Chicago-raised, Brooklyn-based Slava Balasanov spins house-influenced, sample heavy, trance/hypnotic/groovy dance jams. Stuttering samples make you stop and think, "o i heard that before" but then you immediately discount that because it sounds nothing like the original. This is not your older brother's electronic music. Sometimes sad, sometimes subtle, sometimes blown-out: Slava does it all.

Check out this weirdo video for his new single "Girl Like Me"

(don't watch with your older brother)

Carleton student Dylan Payne opens by spinning some hot trax.

    Doors 8:30, Show 9

BYOB for 21+ (6 beers/one bottle wine), all ages welcome.

Saturday: LGBTQ Speed Dating hosted by the GSC

Want to meet cool LGBTQ people at Carleton? Then come to LGBT speed dating!
Respond to ridiculous ice breakers, eat skittles, make friends and maybe-even-
more-than-friends ;) Come to the Cave at 8 PM on Saturday, October 12th for
some good ol' fashioned Carleton awkward fun.

    BYOB 21+, all are welcome.
