Julissa Arce Convocation

Julissa Arce, a Mexican immigrant, went from selling funnel cakes in Texas to derivatives at Wall Street’s most profitable securities firm.  Although she seemingly achieved the American Dream, yet she was not part of what defined American, which she details in her new memoir, My (Underground) American Dream.  Today, Arce is the co-founder and chairman of the Ascend Educational Fund, a college scholarship and mentorship program for immigrant students, regardless of their immigration status, ethnicity or national origin.  As an immigrant rights and education advocate, Arce provides a first-hand perspective on immigration in the USA from an educational and business perspective.
