Carleton's International Relations Council will be sponsoring a week-long series of academic and cultural events investigating Russia from historical, political, and social perspectives.

Tuesday, February 17th

Movie Screening of "Starukhi" followed by Q&A with Russian film scholar Diane Nemec Ignashev.

Wednesday, February 18th

4 PM in Leighton 305

Panel discussion on Russian political and economic climate, as well as U.S. foreign policy with respect to Russia; panel discussants include Profs. Alfred Montero, Roy Grow, Mike Hemesath, and Diane Nemec Ignashev.

Thursday, February 19th

12 PM in Leighton 304

Prof. Adeeb Khalid delivers his "Russia and Its Many Nations: A Historical Overview" lecture during Common Time.

7 PM in Leighton 304

Russian Winnie the Pooh and Claymation classics! Cartoon viewing with Prof. Laura Goering.

Saturday, February 21st

12 PM at Sayles (Return by 4PM)

Bus departs to The Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis, sponsored by the Metro Arts Access Fund

6:30 PM in the Great Hall

Russian-style meal (designed by Jenny Holm '07) and remarks from University of Minnesota Professor Dr. Thomas Wolfe, a specialist in post-communist Russian media and society.
