Carleton College’s Summer Academic Programs Office works with high school students, high school teachers, and conference and retreat guests each summer to ensure that they have an enriching and memorable experience while on campus.

We offer six three-week long pre-college programs in topics such as science, computer science, writing, humanities, quantitative reasoning, and language and global issues where rising juniors and seniors live and learn in a welcoming community of peers.

The Summer Teaching Institute provides high school AP® teachers the opportunity to work on their own professional development as well as work collaboratively with other teachers from around the country and world. Conference and retreat guests can host meetings and gatherings amid the beauty of Carleton’s 880-acre arboretum, Japanese Garden, and the many historic academic buildings.
