About the Workshop

This AP® Environmental Science Summer Institute is designed for both new and experienced APES teachers.  Workshop participants will engage in a variety of field and lab activities including water quality analysis, forestry biodiversity, soil testing, air monitoring, bioassays and modeling. The workshop will focus on the science practices and involve data collection & analysis, designing experiments and developing scientific explanations.  Vernier Lab Quests and probes will be used in addition to alternate data collection techniques.  Basic course elements such as developing a syllabus, effective course pacing, resources, assessment and equity will be addressed. The multiple choice and free response portions of the exam will be discussed with emphasis on how to write multiple choice questions and prepare students to be successful on the exam.
