Do Over

By Hans Figi ’79

In fall 1979 I was an involuntary (and slightly inebriated) member of the Homecoming court. At an event, a student acting like a talk-show host asked us each questions. My lame, deer-in-the-headlights answer to the question: “What would you do if you had $1 million to promote world peace?” has dogged me since and is not worth quoting. Today I would say, “Donate it to UWC (United World College) International for scholarships.” Thanks for letting me get that off my back after 33 years (and no, I don’t work for them).

Editor’s Note: Carleton admissions staff visit the majority of UWC campuses around the world each year, and we currently have 20 UWC Davis Scholars enrolled.
