Eat More Veggies!

BS-Farm-Gift-Photo.jpg

Ellie Youngblood ’14 (South Kent, Conn.) and Tori Ostenso ’15 (Ladysmith, Wis.) present President Steve Poskanzer with a box of Carleton Student Farm–grown produce, including zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, watermelon radishes, cipollini onions, okra, habanero chilis, Thai hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, and herbs. Youngblood (at left) and Ostenso spent the summer tending the one-acre vegetable patch located beside Farm House, and members of Farm Club helped with the fall harvest. The majority of the produce is sold to Bon Appétit, Carleton’s food service provider, and the proceeds offset the expenses of planting and maintaining the farm.
