Mary Easter to Present Dance Performance at Carleton

January 14, 1998

Carleton College Professor of Dance Mary Easter and her longtime friend Judith Brin Ingber will deliver a dance performance titled "And the Walls Come Tumblin' Down" on Wednesday, January 21st at 8:30 p.m. in the Arena Theater.

The project was conceived as an upbeat and diverse cross-cultural approach to illustrate many of the striking similarities that Easter and Ingber found between their respective black and Jewish heritages while working together. Easter encourages all to attend and stay for a discussion which will follow the performance.

The work was featured in Minneapolis as part of the seven-week series "Intersecting Rhythms: An African-American and Jewish Cultural Dialogue" being presented by the St. Paul Jewish Community Center, the Twin Cities Black Film Project, Jewish Community Action, and Intermedia Arts.
