Public Invited to Winter Performance by the Carleton Orchestra

The Carleton College Orchestra will present their winter concert on Friday, March 7 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall. Directed by Hector Valdivia, the program will feature Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 in E flat. This event is free and open to the public.

Hector Valdivia is a professor of music and the S. Eugene Bailey Director of the Carleton Orchestra. In addition to his teaching work, he performs as a violinist with the Veblen Piano Trio, and has recorded several new works by Philip Rhodes, Carleton’s performer in residence. Valdivia recently recorded Beach’s “Variations of Balkan Themes” with the Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
