The Executive Committee of the Carleton College Board of Trustees recently named Beverlee DeCoux to the position of treasurer of the Board and interim vice president and treasurer, effective July 1, 2004. DeCoux will succeed Barbara L. Johnson, who served as vice president and treasurer from June 2000 to June 2004. DeCoux will serve in this position until a permanent successor is named.

In making this appointment, President Robert A. Oden Jr. said to DeCoux, “My confidence in all you do is such that your generosity in serving the College once again in this role means many, many fewer concerns than I might have had.”

DeCoux, a Faribault native, joined the staff of Carleton College in 1973 as an accountant. She was promoted to budget coordinator before taking on her present position as comptroller, where she is responsible for the business office, including payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, risk management and accounting.

DeCoux also had served as interim vice president and treasurer in 2000. The position of vice president and treasurer reports directly to President Oden, and is responsible for the business office, the facilities area, including the building trades, grounds, and custodial services, human resources, auxiliary services and security.

DeCoux is a graduate of Bethlehem Academy and the University of Minnesota with a degree in business administration-accounting.
