The overuse and misuse of artificial light at night has tremendous costs for our pocket books, the ecosystems in which we live, and for human physical, mental, and spiritual health. Join Paul Bogard '89, author of The End of Night: Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light, and Cindy Blaha, Professor of Physics and Astronomy and Garbisch Professor of the Liberal Arts, as they discuss these costs and what Carleton students are doing to monitor and raise awareness of this problem, one that is readily within our grasp to solve.
