There will be a talk on Thursday, October 4, 2007, given by Professor Tun Myint titled “Monks and Military: Unpacking Democracy in Burma”. The talk will cover the recent demonstrations in Burma/Myanmar, providing a historical analysis of military rule, of the role of religion in politics, and the history of the pro-democracy movement in Burma.
