Application Due for the 2011/2012 Team!

Thursday, September 29th, 2011
12:00 – 1:00 pm / https://apps.carleton.edu/student/orgs/irc/munapp/

If this sounds like something you are interested in, please do apply. We have a short form on the IRC website to fill out (at https://apps.carleton.edu/student/orgs/irc/munapp/) that will be due this Thursday at noon. Then, every applicant will be required to attend a conference simulation this Friday September 30th from 7:30pm-9:30pm that you will get more information about once we receive your original application.  It'll be a great chance to bond with other potential members, show us your oral/speaking skills, and get a better gist of the team!  Then, on Sunday October 2nd, we will be meeting with all (second-round) applicants for about 15 minutes each for a painless (really! we promise!) interview.

Just so you get a sense of what conferences we will be attending this year, they will include Harvard MUN in Boston, Arrowhead in the Midwest, U Chicago MUN in Chicago and Worlds in Vancouver, Canada. In addition, we are looking to send a few students to the Clinton Global Initiative University conference in George Washington University; it's new and all about social-justice-oriented/service-learning-related involvement.  Past participants have included Marie Tillman, Fmr. President Bill Clinton, Chad Hurley (Co-founder of Youtube), Sean Penn (on behalf of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization), and a slew of others from academic, activist, and philanthropic endeavors!  And a brief reminder - Student Activities sponsors all of these lovely journeys!
On that note, we look forward to seeing your application!
