Ionesco’s Rhinoceros

Please join alums, parents and friends for a wonderful night out at the Greenhouse Theater in Lincoln Park. Rhinoceroses are loose in the streets. Berenger does not care. While the citizenry fails to make heads (horns) or tails out of an increasingly chaotic situation, our hero begins to realize that everybody around him is gradually changing into pachyderms. Considered by many to be Ionesco’s finest play, Rhinoceros tracks one man’s lonely efforts to hang onto his humanity, while everyone around him abandons theirs.
After the play, please join us in the lobby for a meet-and-talk with the director, cast, and our very own Professor Kent Gallagher '57. Professor Gallagher is the president of the Board of Trustees of the Organic Theater Company and has directed more than 50 plays.
Cost: $20 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the Greenhouse Theater. Tell them you are part of the “Carleton group” to get this discount price, which includes the play, service fees, and the private post-play reception.
Please let club co-chair Stephanie Lee '04 know you are coming so she can plan the refreshments. If you need assistance, contact the Alumni Relations Office at 800-729-2586 or alumni-office@carleton.edu.
