Join Carleton alums and parents on a tour of the LACMA exhibit "In Wonderland: the Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the US" with Carleton’s Laurel Bradley, and lunch after the tour!

Laurel Bradley is Director and Curator of the brand new Perlman Teaching Museum at Carleton. At the college since 1996, Ms Bradley has organized exhibitions on a wide range of themes from Australian Aboriginal Artists and the Land, to Visual Astronomy, to photographic interpretations of the campus. Previously, she taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, on topics including Women in Art.

In Wonderland: the Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the US presents extraordinary visual images by women artists from the United States and Mexico. Spanning the years 1931 to 1968, the exhibition celebrates the creativity unleashed by surrealism and feminism embodied in works by Frida Kahlo, Louise Bourgeois, Lee Miller and lesser known artists.

In Wonderland, which debuts in Los Angeles, was organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico.

Tickets:  $15 per person. (A limited number of tickets are available)  TICKETS FOR THE TOUR MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE.  Contact Debra Grubb ’79 by January 30.  (Contact information for Debra has been included in the original event notice, and for privacy reasons is not included here.  If you need assistance, contact the Alumni Relations Office at 800-729-2586 or alumni-office@carleton.edu.)

We will gather outside the Resnick Pavillion at LACMA at 10:15; the tour will start promptly at 10:30. After the tour, we will proceed to a nearby Ethiopian restaurant for lunch with Laurel (not included in $15 ticket).
