Second Thursday Breakfast with Bob Carlson ’68

Thursday, April 14, 2011, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m .

Curran's Restaurant, 42nd and Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis

Historical, Political, Social and Economic Factors Behind the Revolution in Egypt.  A self-employed agribusiness consultant, Bob Carlson ’68 lived and worked in the private sector in Egypt from 1997-1999 and again in 2004.  He has conducted consulting projects in Egypt as recently as October 2010.  In 2009, he was a speaker for the Minnesota International Center’s Great Decisions lecture series on the topic “Egypt:  Key Ally in the Middle East.”

Treat yourself to a tasty and inexpensive breakfast.  Reservations are not necessary.  Suggestions for Second Thursday Breakfast speakers are always welcome.  Contact Becky zrimsek '89 in the Alumni Relations Office with your ideas at rzrimsek@carleton.edu.

May 12th—College Archivist Eric Hillemann will talk about his writing a biography of Larry Gould.

New Location in May!  We’ve outgrown Curran’s Family Restaurant—thanks to them for terrific service over the years—and will be moving this series to the Perkins Restaurant located at 4201 W. 78th Street (near 494 and France) in Bloomington.  The new location has a private room, wireless internet, and a large range of breakfast options.  We hope you’ll join us.
