Carleton’s Regional Carls Program

We'll meet at 10:00 am in the parking lot at the top of Stevensville Road, in Underhill Center, VT and head up to Butler Lodge, which is a 1.4 mile, 1,465 ft. ascent. We will stop here to enjoy our lunches together. From this point, there are a few options:

1. Forehead scramble option: Take the Wampahoofus trail to Mt. Mansfield Forehead, which involves some scrambling. Descend Maple Ridge and Frost trails: 2,383 ft ascent and 4.1 miles round-trip from the parking area.

2. Butler Lodge Loop option: Follow Rock Garden Trail over to the Frost Trail and down 3.5 miles.

3. Out-and-back option: back down the Butler Lodge Trail.

We'll bring maps, and there will be a leader on the Wampahoofus and Rock Garden options.

Items to Bring: Lunch, water, rain gear. Warm clothes or sun screen & hat, depending on the weather. Hiking boots offer better support and grip than sneakers.

Cost: None.

In case of rain: We will email by 8 am on Saturday morning if the conditions aren't reasonable for a hike.
