Carleton Professor of French and author Scott Dominic Carpenter P'11 speaks about his new novel, Theory of Remainders, an engrossing story dealing with the French-American encounter. The fictional account of an American psychiatrist who travels to France for answers about his own traumatic past, Theory of Remainders has been acclaimed for its representation of French culture and history, as well as for the sense of place it conveys in the depictions of Normandy.
