Magic! The Science of Wonder with Richard Hatch ’77
Tuesday, August 10, 2010 – 6 p.m.
Houston Museum of Natural Science
5555 Hermann Park Drive, Houston
Richard Hatch ’77 majored in physics and went on to Yale to earn two masters’ degrees before opting to follow his real passion—magic—and he’s been a professional deceptionist for 25+ years! He advised the museum on their special exhibit, and he’ll guide us through it, liberally illustrating his commentary with magic. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a Mexican meal together at Bodegas (on the ground floor of Park Plaza Medical Building).
This event is especially suitable for kids (who may get an opportunity to help with a magic trick!) and represents an extraordinary opportunity for everyone to explore the science of magic from a Carleton perspective.
Tickets: $27 adults, $22 children and seniors (62 plus), $15 members. Purchase your tickets directly from the museum using the link below. The museum recommends advance purchase. Choose the 6:30 Magic exhibit entry time.
Reservations/questions: Contact Mary Watson ’66.
After buying your tickets from the Natural Science Museum, please contact Mary to let her know you’ll be attending. A good head count, with the ages of children, will help our planning enormously.
