for a talk on Van Gogh and the “Van Gogh Up Close” exhibit

Saturday, April 14, 2012, 1 to 4 p.m.

Please join us! Lauren Soth, Professor of Art History, Emeritus, will give a lecture on Van Gogh and then accompany the group to the Philadelphia Art Museum’s “Van Gogh Up Close” exhibit. After enjoying the lecture, we will walk a short distance to the museum, where Professor Soth’s expertise will bring even greater depth to this special exhibit. Professor Soth taught art history at Carleton for 40 years before retiring in 2004. Among his courses were seminars on Van Gogh and he has published several articles on the artist.  He will be accompanied by his wife, Nancy.

Costs for the event are:  $30 – Adult; $28 – Senior; $25 – Student with valid ID, $17 – Children (age 5-12)  We have 50 tickets available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
