Chicago Business Book Club Meeting

Carleton October Business Book Club Meeting

Friday, October 1st, 2010
7:30 am / Chicago

Carleton Business Book Club Began its Second Year
with Alumni Author Jeff Appelquist

Next Meeting: Friday, October 1

After a summer hiatus, our club met on September 10 to discuss Jeff’s book, Sacred Ground, in which he applies the lessons learned from historical battles to the world of business leadership.  About a dozen people participated, our largest showing yet, including Ann Iijima, Associate Director of Alumni Affairs.  Jeff led us in a far ranging discussion.

Please join us for our next regular meeting, on October 1, to discuss Linchpin:  Are You Indispensable? by bestselling author Seth Godin.  Godin argues that there used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor.  Now there’s a third, the linchpins.  These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos.  Linchpins are the essential building blocks of great organizations.  Read Godin’s book to find out how you can strengthen your role as a linchpin.  You too can be indispensable to your work organization!
