Join fellow Carls to see Aparna Ramaswamy '97 of Ragamala Dance Company perform in They Rose at Dawn. In this solo work, women are depicted as carriers of ritual. Navigating inner and outer worlds, they invoke a sense of reverence, of unfolding mystery, of imagination. A stellar Carnatic musical ensemble accompanies Ramaswamy as she explores the spontaneous interplay between music and movement and the dynamic contours created by the artists onstage.

*There will be a Q&A with Aparna Ramaswamy after the performance on Friday, February 19.

Cost: $25. Tickets may be purchased directly from the Cowles Center online here.

“Aparna Ramaswamy is a vision of sculptural lucidity whose dancing brings a full-boded awareness to complex rhythms and shifts of dynamics” -- The New York Times
