Carleton's Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE)

Join us at we hear how CCCE encourages students to pursue their passions by participating in co-curricular programs, academic civic engagement courses, and paid student work positions. The CCCE office supports 40 student led programs and 60 academic civic engagement courses. CCCE co-sponsors three major events on campus including "Into the ARB", where every new student plants a tree; "Empty Bowls", a collaboration with the Art Department which is a fundraiser to address local food insecurity; and the "Lighten Up" garage sale, a collaboration with the Sustainability Office to divert and resell materials that students donate before leaving campus in June. In 2018, the "Lighten Up" sale collected 46,000 pounds of materials from campus and raised $36,000 for three local community partners.
