Zimbra Email Migration
May 25, 2007The original email/calendar evaluation project has completed its work. The group's report recommends migration to the Zimbra Collaboration Suite, and advisory committees have accepted that recommendation. A group has been formed to work on migrating all existing academic IMAP and administrative GroupWise users to Zimbra, likely finishing during Fall 2007. Some demos of the Zimbra web interface (require Flash and sound) are available.
Email/Calendar Project
January 17, 2007An ITS workgroup is searching for a new integrated email/calendar system for the whole campus to use for implementation this summer. We have identified 4-5 possible packages and would like to request the help of the Carleton community in making a final purchasing recommendation. We will be conducting focus group research in which we have equal representation of students, staff and faculty. This group will help the ITS workgroup complete their evaluation process by participating in a demonstration of the candidate systems, spending a period of 10 days using one of the demo systems, and providing us with feedback on their experiences. The ITS workgroup will then use this data to provide an informed recommendation for our new email/calendar system.
