Trying and Trys

This week the men's team worked hard in their quest for a great season.  The practices were full of intensity yet were also able to clue the rookies into how to play the game of rugby on Saturday.  The Gustavus (GAC) game though a loss showed our team many important things.  First, is that we when have our heads in the game we can play the first ten minutes of the game and instead of getting a try scored on us, can score a try ourselves, great job EB.  Second, we can hold off GAC and in fact blow them off scrums and rucks this year which is a  huge improvement over previous years.  Furthermore, from the pained faces of GAC at the half, the Oaks are no longer considered the pushovers that they have been in past years.   Our rookies also had a great showing, with Ladner's huge boot, the great tackles and runs of Jon, and DJ's quickly learning how to play and do well at prop.  Overall, this weekends game against GAC was one of the best games of rugby that Carleton has played in some time.
