Interns perform various professional activities and direct service in the communities alongside established South African NGO's making remarkable impacts. The research, exposure, and learning experience culminates into workshops and projects developed and conducted predominantly by the interns for community members and to train/educate NGO staff, health care workers, entrepreneurs, and students. Depending on your specific field of interest and work, there are many options for a final culminating project.

The lab manager will work with SPARQ staff, faculty affiliates, and practitioner-partners to support social psychological research that both creates new knowledge and solves social problems. Ongoing projects include: Respectful Policing, a partnership to improve officer-citizen interactions; Space Reface, a partnership with the Stanford engineering and computer science departments to design physical spaces that promote belonging for women and people of color; and Barriers to Economic Agency, a partnership with the World Bank to boost economic interventions with cultural insights.
