Anna Guasco ’16 named Gates Cambridge Scholar
February 19, 2019Guasco has been identified by the Gates Cambridge Trust as one of the 34 most academically outstanding and socially committed U.S. citizens, earning her a place in the 2019 class of Gates Cambridge Scholars at the University of Cambridge.
Three new exhibits opening Friday, Feb. 8 in the Perlman Teaching Museum all celebrate the ceramics arts. An opening reception will be held from 5–7 p.m. in the Weitz Center for Creativity Commons. The reception is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
In the Braucher Gallery, “Pulchra scientia: The Aesthetics of Discovery” explores the intersection of art and science. In the Kaemmer Gallery, “UnikKautte” showcases Carleton’s Inuit art collection.
FOCUS Program Receives Diversity Magazine Award

April 11, 2017Michael McNally ’85, professor of religion at Carleton, has won a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in support of his forthcoming book on Native American legal rights, including those at the forefront of the current Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s fight against an oil pipeline. Guggenheim Fellowships are widely viewed as the most prestigious award in American scholarly life.
