Renowned Zenon Dance Company comes to the Weitz Theater

Zenon Dance Company will perform Friday, January 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weitz Center for Creativity Theater. Considered one of the nation’s premier repertory dance companies, Zenon Dance Company captivates audiences with a rare and dynamic blend of modern and jazz dance. Recognized for their stylistic diversity, fearless physicality and emotional intelligence, Zenon dancers are continually redefining and pushing dance standards in Minnesota.

Working with talented emerging choreographers as well as internationally renowned masters, the award-winning Zenon Company has garnered rave reviews from publications such as the New York Times, Village Voice, Dance Magazine, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, and City Pages.

Under the direction of Linda Andrews, one of the most powerful choreographic voices in Minnesota, Zenon continues to build its eclectic repertory by commissioning significant works from such acclaimed American choreographers as Bill T. Jones, Doug Varone, Bebe Miller, Tere O’Connor, Danny Buraczeski, and Seán Curran.

Zenon has performed throughout the United States at such esteemed venues as The Joyce Theatre and Jacob’s Pillow, as well as at colleges and festivals. The company has also toured to Aruba, Guam, Russia, Saipan, Switzerland, Budapest, and throughout the Midwest.
