Carelton Wins Lone Home Competition

Northfield, Minn – Elise Cordo (Jr./Wayzata, Minn.) won the Division A figures, the solo competition and joined with Stephanie Moberg (So./Scottsdale, Ariz./North Canyon) and Zofi Kudak-Field (Sr./Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) to win the trios as the Carleton College synchronized swimming team edged Minnesota, 94-91, to win the Carleton Invitational.

Cordo scored 73.070 to win the A Division over a pair of Minnesota competitors and won the solo competition with 79.250 points. In the trio event, Cordo, Moberg and Kudak-Field tallied a score of 69.750, edging the Gopher trio at 67.000.

Kudak-Field won the B Division figures with 66.389, while Moberg took top honors in the C Division at 63.125.

Cordo and Kudak-Field finished second in the duet competition, followed by Moberg and Dara Strauss-Albee (Jr./Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata).

In the team competition, the Knights were second with a scored of 64.000. That group included Caroline Marsili (Sr./St. Louis Park, Minn.), Moberg, Strauss-Albee, Liza Styles (Jr./Amherst, Mass./Pioneer Valley Performing Arts) and Lia Bendix (Fy./Cleveland Heights, Ohio) with Megan Williams (Fy./Houston/American School-London) serving as the alternate.

The synchronized swimming team is back in action on Fri., February 1 at the University of Minnesota Invitational. Following that competition, the Knights will begin preparations for the Collegiate Regional Championships the first weekend in March.
