The Carleton College synchronized swimming team recorded a third-place finish at the North Regional Championships. The Knights have finished among the top three teams at the regional championships in each of the last four seasons and five times since 1999-2000, when the team first competed at the regional championships.
Host Ohio State University captured its 18th regional title with 105 points, the University of Michigan finished second, scoring 73 points, while Carleton College rounded out the Top 3 with a score of 69. (Results below)
Elise Cordo (Jr./Wayzata, Minn.) and Zofi Kudak-Field (Sr./Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) placed fourth and fifth respectively in the solo competition, then paired to finish fourth in the duets
Dara Strauss-Albee (Jr./Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) and Stephanie Moberg (So./Scottsdale, Ariz./North Canyon) added a sixth-place showing in the duet competition as well.
Cordo, Kudak-Field and Moberg finished fifth in the trio competition as well.
In the team routine Moberg; Strauss-Albee; Liza Styles (Jr./Amherst, Mass./Pioneer Valley Performing Arts); Megan Williams (Fy./Houston/American School in London) and Lia Bendix (Fy./Cleveland Heights, Ohio) also finished fifth.
The final event on the synchronized swimming schedule is the 32nd annual U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships on March 26-29 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State University.
