Complex Culinary Competition Party

The Complex Culinary Competition Party was designed as an alternative to dining hall food on a Friday night. Every floor received the challenge to create a dish and leave it out for passersby in the floor lounge. For the sake of the news, our intrepid reporter decided to try all of them.

First Burton: Caramel apples. No apples left by the time I got there, but the caramel was good. Also little bowls of sprinkles, which would have been fun to put on the caramel apples had there been any.

Second Burton: Pumpkin pie. Not my favorite, but for those of you who like pumpkin pie, it would have been delightful. Also whipped cream.

Third Burton: A bizarre concoction that as far as I could tell was some combination of Chex mix and chocolate. Someone later informed me that this is called Puppy Chow. Many students like it, but the combination of flavors was too disturbing to me.

Fourth Burton: Pizookie! Very delicious. I also got to chat with members of my floor, because I live there.

First Sevy: I checked the lounge, and there was no food in there. Come on, people!

Second Sevy: Absolutely darling chocolate mice. Maraschino cherries dipped in chocolate so the stem makes a tail, and almond slice ears. Delicious and cute. Also a heated debate about whether Harry Potter is a horcrux or not.

First Davis: No food, again. They must have missed the memo.

Second Davis: Nachos. A nice break from the dessert theme I have been encountering.

Third Davis: No food??

Fourth Davis: Healthy food, specifically vegetable sticks and dip. They win for nutritious, though possibly not for delicious.

Dining Hall: A choice between gnocchi, fish nuggets, and pineapple curry pork. If you like gnocchi, like I do, it was actually pretty good.

THE VERDICT: Second Sevy wins, hands down. Kudos to you and your mouse-assembling skills!
