Fred Hagstrom exhibits at Birmingham Museum of Art
August 21, 2018Fred Hagstrom is part of the exhibit "Third Space: shifting conversations about contemporary art." The Birmingham Museum of Art presents Third Space, the first large exhibition of contemporary art from the Museum’s own collection.Third Space features over 100 works of art in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video. The exhibition creates connections between the American South and other parts of the world using contemporary art.
Kelly Connole exhibits at American Swedish Institute
June 4, 2018Associate Professor of Art, has two ceramics sculptures on exhibit at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis through July 15. The exhibition features five local artists in conjunction with The Fantastical Worlds of Kim Simmonson.

Juliane Shibata exhibits at George Fox University
April 3, 2017Visiting Assistant Professor of Art, was recently included in a National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) concurrent exhibition titled Tropes of Nature at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Ross Elfline is lead consultant for Walker Art Center's exhibition "Hippie Modernism"
November 2, 2015Ross Elfline, Assistant Professor of Art History, was lead consultant for the exhibition Hippie Modernism: The Struggle for Utopia, which opened at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis on Saturday, October 23. The exhibition will be on view until February 28, 2016 before traveling to the Cranbrook Art Center in Michigan, and then to the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive in California. Ross also led the opening weekend panel discussion with the exhibition's curator and three contributors to the exhibition catalog. In addition, his essay "Radical Bodies," which focuses on how avant-garde architectural works posit the human body, is featured in the catalog, which is now in bookstores.
Kelly Connole at Northern Clay Center
July 8, 2015McKnight Exhibition at the Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis through August 30th--the opening reception is this Saturday, July 11 from 1-4. Connole has installed a major piece titled From Here to There that is a meditation on the cycle of life and the deliberate act of finding profound beauty in darkness.
