Do you love the occult?
Do you think Satan is kinda cool?
Do you like candy?
If you answered yes to zero or more of these questions, you're in luck. It's HALLOWEEN WEEK at the CAVE
.....~~spooky fun all week~~.....
thursday: halloween party
Instead of trick-or-treating the streets of Northfield (let's face it, we are too old), come to the Cave for a lil' halloweenie party featuring candy and the Misfits. Not the real band but maybe we can listen to them. Or we could listen to Monster Mash on repeat. One time I needed to memorize all of the words to that song so I listened to it on repeat for two weeks. There are a lot of words but now I know them all.
We have gummy eyeballs and a prize for the best costume.
friday: chastity belt w/ pony time and prom queef
Four women from Seattle met in college and decided to make some noise. But please, don't start in with the riot grrrl business. It's really nothing like that. Their new album "No Regerts" is full of slyly catchy songs about topics as varied as pussy, weed, beer, nip slips, and a giant vagina. Those are just the goofiest and most eye-catching because look, now you are interested. The lyrics can be very silly but their sound is full and songwriting often ingenious. You may have seen them on Buzzfeed's "most awkward band photos"...because you were reading Buzzfeed instead of doing your homework. Buzzfeed is lame and Chastity Belt is not. Chicks with a sense of humor and serious music skills.
Look at this cool video, hear Julia Shapiro's husky beautiful voice, and admire their floral couch.
On tour with Chastity Belt is Pony Time, also from Seattle. Male Female duo full of crunchy guitar and snarky vocals. Here's a vid for you:
; Just because two female drummers is not enough for one night, Carleton's own Prom Queef will start out the night.
Doors 8:30, Show 9.
BYOB 21+//All Ages welcome
