Most students will work at least some hours between now and graduation and a majority accept at least one loan. This session will provide information on student employment and payroll at Carleton.

9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., #CARLTALK: CULTIVATING INCLUSION ON CAMPUS, Recreation Center

Make new connections in this highly interactive session as you explore the dynamics of difference on campus and how you can support the personal and academic success of all students. What is your role and responsibility as new students to help create an inclusive campus environment where all students feel a sense of safety and belonging? Take this as a starting point to understand diversity and participate in an important conversation about it. Sponsored by the Office for Intercultural and International Life (OIIL) and TRIO.

A brief presentation and welcome to campus from the Alumni Relations and Annual Fund Offices where you’ll learn more about ways to get involved with the campus and alumni community. Bring your smiles for your first official class photo!

Hear from the Director of Security and Emergency Management on keeping yourself and your property safe

What is the DMCA and why should you care? Who are the RIAA and MPAA? Does file sharing equal copyright infringement? We’ll talk about all these things.. Presented by Austin Robinson-Coolidge, Director of Technology Support; and Kevin Chapman, Computing Support Specialist.

3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., ACADEMIC FAIR, Recreation Center
Talk with faculty and student departmental advisers about course selection, placement, and anything else that’s on your mind. If you have been assigned or plan to have a work study position, this is another great time to complete your employment paperwork.

There’s a mystery to be solved in the “Libe”! Come to the library for food, prizes, darkness, and mystery mayhem.   

This is a chance to meet residents of your hall, beyond your floormates, and your Residence Life staff. Your Resident Assistant(s) will inform you of your hall social location at your first floor meeting.
