Here is what was talked about:

  1. Board Members Off-Campus - We didn't explain this at our first meeting, but Ray Nelson, our vice-President, and Robert Mills, our treasurer, are both off-campus this term and will be back in the winter!
  2. Step It Up and Dance - This big event is held in the spring, and its format is being changed a lot - there will be Jazz and Tap this year! Catrice, Robin, Jewel, and Brittney are the main organizers.
  3. Freshmen Social - Will be held 6-8 this Friday (TOMORROW) at Freedom House. There will be ice cream and crepes, so start your weekend off right! IMPORTANT: If you want to come meet members of CUBE (St. Olaf's BSA), then we will have a campus van leaving from Sayles at 4:30 tomorrow. Everyone is welcome!
  4. Poetry Weekend - Will be held during 9th weekend in the Great Space, Boliou, and the Cave. Get pumped!
  5. Foozball Fundraiser - Will be held during 5th weekend. We have definite donations from Domino's, the Bookstore, and we're working on getting more. Get pumped!
  6. Boxes and Walls - We will be the main organizers of this event - with collaboration among different campus groups - in the winter. If you're interested or have questions, contact Elsa, Jewel, Robin, Catrice, or JP.
  7. Alumni Directory - Shakita, Brittney, and JP will be working on the development of this project.

Reminders:

  • Platforms for Freshmen Rep and PR Officer are due to JP or me by midnight this Sunday (the 26th). Elections will be held at the meeting next week. Contact us with any questions.
  • I will be leading a discussion about sustainability and environmentalism at Carleton in the OIIL Lounge next Thursday (the 30th) from 8-9 PM. Stop by or stay the whole time; there will be snacks!
  • If you have any ideas for events or speakers during We Speak week (near the end of February), contact JP or I. For those who don't know, February is Black History month, and We Speak is a student performance honoring Black History.
  • We will start discussion topics next week, so e-mail us with any suggestions by midnight, Monday.

Happy Friday and hope to see everyone tomorrow!
