Northfield Sites

City of Northfield
This site provides information pertaining to government, businesses and public organizations.  In addition, it has some information about the Economic Development Authority (EDA).

Locally Grown Northfield
This is the blog that goes along with the weekly radio show by the same name, both of which focus on Northfield issues. Useful for updates about local arts and culture groups and happenings.

Northfield.org
This site of community news includes a listing of upcoming events as well as links to many other Northfield web sites.  Its Arts and Entertainment section focuses specifically on local arts developments.

Northfield Chamber of Commerce
Although few arts organizations are members of the chamber of commerce, the site does provide a general description of the arts in Northfield.  It includes a limited calendar of community events and multiple links to other local calendars.

Northfield Downtown Development Corporation
The Northfield Downtown Development Corporation (NDDC)works to keep downtown Northfield vibrant through investment, collaboration, and creating awareness of opportunities.  The site has some documents and links relevant to arts and entertainment.

Northfield News
Frequently, this local newspaper includes articles pertaining to various developments in the arts.

Northfield Public Library
The site lists events, both one-time and ongoing, that occur at the library.  These include programs with authors and classes for kids that incorporate arts.

Northfield Public Schools
By looking at the websites of the individuals schools, one can find brief information about what arts and music classes are available and for what grades. Additionally, contact information for teachers is available.

Northfield School of Arts and Technology (ARTECH)
"An Edvisions, project-based charter school in Northfield, Minnesota" with a specific focus on integrating arts and technology into students' learning experiences.

Northfield Union of Youth (The Key)
"A nonprofit organization - for youth and by youth. All ideas for programs, projects and events are all generated by the youth."

Includes a lot of research resources, national arts policy database and arts services directory, services/info for a number of sectors within the arts, some basic info. about economic impact of the arts, and links to relevant news sources.

Bureau of Labor Statistics
This provides broad information about the nature of the industry (employment, occupations, earnings,etc.).

Guidestar
This database of non-profits in the United States provides an opportunity to search for arts organizations within Northfield. It provides financial information for relatively larger non-profits.

Minnesota Citizens for the Arts
This site includes research resources, a state arts policy database and arts services directory, services/information for a number of sectors within the arts, some basic information about economic impact of the arts, and links to relevant news sources.

Minnesota State Arts Board
Here, find information about upcoming opportunities and deadlines for artists, arts organizations and others involved in the arts. News about the arts and arts events in Minnesota, as well as research on the arts, is also available. 

Springboard for the Arts
This site provides professional development services to artists, arts organizations and arts administrators.  It mostly supports individual artists and small arts organizations.

South Eastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC)
SEMAC offers grants, acts as a resource/referral agency, and provides workshops and consultation.  The site also includes a limited calendar and an artist registry.
