Carleton College Moves Synchronized Swimming to Club-Sport Level
April 15, 2010 at 10:38 amCarleton College announced on April 9 that the Department of Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation is changing the status of its intercollegiate synchronized swimming program and returning it to the club level at the end of the current school year. Carleton student-athletes participating in the sport will continue to have access to the same competitions that they did as varsity-team members. This includes the North Regional Championships and the annual U.S. Collegiate Championships.
Knights Tie for 16th at U.S. Collegiate Championships
March 13, 2010 at 11:12 pmThe 2010 season wrapped up for the Carleton College synchronized swimming team this weekend at the U.S. Collegiate Championships. The Knights tied for 16th out of 21 teams, ranking ahead of squads from institutions such as Boston University, Colorado State University, and Penn State University.
Knights Place Fifth at North Regional Championships

Knights Finish 16th at U.S. Collegiate Championships
March 28, 2009 at 8:40 pmThe 2009 synchronized swimming season drew to a close this weekend at the U.S. Collegiate Championships. The Knights were 16th out of 23 teams. The event marks the 33rd national championships, which are an open-class meet, combining competition from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and NAIA colleges and universities.
Knights Grab Third at North Regional Championships
March 7, 2009 at 10:50 pmThe Carleton College synchronized swimming team recorded a third-place finish at the North Regional Championships. The Knights have now finished among the top three teams at the regional championships five consecutive years and six times overall since Carleton first competed at the regional championships in 1999-2000. Dara Strauss-Albee and Stephanie Moberg finished sixth in the duets and were also part of a sixth-place performance in the trio competition.
Tilman '04 Passes Away From Unknown Heart Condition
February 13, 2009 at 4:00 pmSarah Tilman '04, a member of Carleton's synchronized swimming team during her time at Carleton, passed away this past Monday of an apparent unknown heart condition. Tilman was a biology teacher at Washington, D.C.'s Woodrow Wilson High School. She helped the Knights qualify for the U.S. Collegiate Championships, where the team routinely placed among the top four Division III schools. She also earned U.S. Synchronized Swimming Collegiate All-Scholar Team honors as a Knight. Her funeral is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15.
Knights Win Lone Home Event
February 8, 2009 at 11:43 pmThe Knights hosted the University of Minnesota for the only home synchronized swimming event of the season. Elise Cordo won the Division A figures and Charlotte Alster won the solo competition to help Carleton notched the 94-91 victory.
Knights Open 2009 With Win over Univ. of Minnesota
January 28, 2009 at 1:52 pmThe Knights won 92-74 over the University of Minnesota in their first meet of the year. Charlotte Alster, Stephanie Moberg and Dara Strauss-Albee finished second in the trios competition with a score of 67.333, which was just a half a point short of winning.

April 23, 2008 at 2:39 pmMembers of the Carleton College synchronized swimming team and some special guests will hold their second (and final) spring performance on Sat., April 26 at Thorpe Pool located inside of West Gym. The theme of this year’s performance is "So you think you can be America's next top synchro idol: Diva Night" (a parody of reality talent shows). The show begins at 8 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission is free. Come see why Inside Sports named synchronized swimming one of the world’s five toughest sports!
Knights Tie for 11th at U.S. Collegiate Championships
March 29, 2008 at 8:39 pmThe Carleton College synchronized swimming team concluded the competition portion of its season by tying for 11th out of 21 teams at the U.S. Collegiate Championships. The Knights totaled 22.0 points, which matched the College of William and Mary. The national championships are an open-class meet, combining competition from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and NAIA colleges and universities.
Knights Third at Regional Championships
March 2, 2008 at 2:39 pmThe Carleton College synchronized swimming team recorded a third-place finish at the North Regional Championships. The Knights have finished among the top three teams at the regional championships in each of the last four seasons. Host Ohio State University captured its 18th regional title with 105 points, the University of Michigan finished second, scoring 73 points, while Carleton College rounded out the Top 3 with a score of 69.
Carelton Wins Lone Home Competition
January 27, 2008 at 6:15 pmThe Carleton College synchronized swimming team opened the 2008 season with a 94-91 victory over Minnesota at the Carleton Invitational. The team's only home competition of the year was held at Thorpe Pool. Junior Elise Cordo won the Division A figures, the solo competition and joined with Stephanie Moberg and Zofi Kudak-Field to win the trios.
